Staying true to his Trinidadian roots,

Jillionaire fuses original caribbean rhythms of soca with dancehall beats. Born Christopher Leacock in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, the globe-trotting DJ first discovered music by listening to his parents' extensive collection of 80s cassettes, ranging from Olivia Newton John, Santana, and Prince.

As a teenager, he began DJing for reggae and dancehall group Zion One Sound System, strictly playing vinyls. He then moved on to join Radioactive Sound System and worked closely with Kwesi “Hype Hoppa” Hopkinson. After graduating from the University of the West Indies, Jillionaire worked as an IT Energy Consultant for six years and opened up a restaurant/bar in Trinidad. While DJing only on nights off, once he discovered the capabilities of Serato, he decided at that moment to focus entirely on producing music.

Along with Diplo and Walshy Fire, he is a member of the electronic music group Major Lazer. With the anticipated release of Major Lazer’s third album, Peace is the Mission, the trio collaborated with an array of artists including Ariana Grande, Machel Montano, Ellie Goulding, Tarrus Riley, Nyla, Chronixx, DJ Snake, MØ, Wild Belle, Elliphant, and Jovi Rockwell. They performed their hit single “Lean On” live on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and premiered their animated series, “Major Lazer,” on FXX. They have previously collaborated with Tyga, Bruno Mars, Flux Pavilion, Santigold, Wyclef Jean, Laidback Luke, Sean Paul, and Pharrell Williams. Taking his passion for music to the next level, in 2014 Jillionaire launched his Brooklyn based music label, Feel Up Records.

With diverse artists such as Saint Ballantine, BOYSLASHFRIEND, Tangina Stone, Richie Beretta, DOM DIAS, Jus Now, and $extape on the roster, he has been focusing on supporting their careers. Jillionaire has been working on singles with Phat Deuce, Mr. Lexx, Swick, Rocky Wellstack, Richie Beretta, Salvatore Ganacci, Sanjin, T.O.K. and Etc! Etc!, all while being fully immersed with Major Lazer. Jillionaire has been hosting his Chicken and Beer parties at Winter Music Conference in Miami since 2010, and has recently wrapped up Feel Up Records’ first Chicken and Beer Summer Tour. With shows in North America and Canada, the artist lineup included Walshy Fire, Bunji Garlin, Toy Selectah, KickRaux, Speakerfoxxx, Jubilee, and Max Glazer, with of course, chicken and beer.

Jillionaire has been touring worldwide with Major Lazer since 2009 including performing at festivals such as Coachella, Trinidad Carnival, CMJ Music Marathon, Electric Daisy Carnival, South by Southwest, and Mad Decent Block Party. With over 20 years of experience, Jillionaire continues to establish himself as an innovative and creative producer.
